Vernichtet uns Bolon Yokte?
Lange soll es nicht mehr dauern, nicht mal mehr zwölf Monate, dann kommt Bolon Yokte. Apokalyptiker berufen sich dabei auf Überlieferungen der Mayas die ihn angeblich als Gott des Krieges darstellen, dieser soll zum 21. Dezember kommen und das Armageddon herbeiführen. Alles nur Unsinn? Die Presse hat der Thematik einen süffisanten Leitartikel gewidmet.

New Traffic Law: Rettungsgasse
Attention all drivers on highways (Autobahn) inside Austria: A new law in Austria will go into effect by January, 1st. Form an emergency corridor as soon as traffic ceases to progress and congestion is imminent on motorways or dual carriageways and highways regardless of whether emergency vehicles are already in the vicinity or not.

Christmas Market in Bratislava
We've been recently to Bratislava to see a good friend of hours at the Christmas markets (vianocný trh) of Bratislava. I took my camera with me for some shots from the main square (hlavná namestie), the Slovak National Theater and Cumil.

A trip to Virgen & Lienz, Osttirol
Osttirol is a region in the Alps of Austria. It is a worth seeing place, even if it's pretty far away from Vienna or other bigger cities. We went there for a weekend trip to see Lienz, Virgen and Matrei during the Christmas season. Eventhough the Winter of 2011 is pretty much without snow so far, Osttirol was white and I managed to go skiing and cross-country skiing

Grüne Persiflage
Über ein Jahrzehnt beobachte ich die Grünen jetzt schon. Sich stellen sich gerne selbst als aktionistisch, idealistisch, pazifischtisch und vieles mehr dar. Sind sie wirklich so? Ihr Fazit: Juniorpartner in Oberösterreich und Wien und vertreten in einigen Gemeinden/Bezirken und weit entfernt von Verantwortung im Bund. Pragmatismus, Chrematophobie und der Idealismus.

Slowakisch Kurs - Tichá noc, svätá noc
War heute wieder im Slowakisch Kurs - Es sind wieder viele neue Vokabeln dazu gekommen! Haben Grammatik wiederholt und geübt und passend zur Weihnachtszeit uns "Tichá noc, svätá noc" (Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht) angehört. Wie es der Zufall so will, hat sich Silvia aus der Slowakei in ihrem Deutschkurs "Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht" auf Deutsch angehört :-) Habe ein wenig herum gegoogelt und habe ein Preview MP3 von "Tichá noc, svätá noc" gefunden und verlinkt. Vokabel CSV folgt!
